We still hear many people stating they would like to buy a (purebred) dog or cat from a pet shop.
Please DON’T BUY FROM A PET SHOP!
Do not buy a puppy from a pet store—in fact, do not buy a puppy from any place that does not allow you to see its entire facility and meet the mother dog or cat. This includes websites that sell pets online.
Anyone can put up a great-looking website or sign in the shop boasting the highest standards of breeding and care, but you really have no way of knowing if such businesses are what they claim. Truly responsible breeders want to meet you before selling you one of their prized pups to be sure that he or she is going to a good home. The chance that the puppy or kitten in the pet shop comes from a puppy or kitten mill is almost 100%.
A puppy (or kitten) mill is a large-scale commercial dog (cat) breeding operation where profit is given priority over the well-being of the animals.

We are realistic in the fact that we know it still happens and most likely will continue to. Which is why we are ensuring that the animals for sale in some local pet shops are vaccinated.
You will know if the animal that you are buying is vaccinated by RAK AWC as you will receive one of our vaccination cards. Never assume that the animal that you are buying is vaccinated unless you receive a signed and stamped vaccination card - do not take the word of the pet shop on this matter.
Always take your new pet to an experienced and qualified veterinarian to ensure that he/she is in good general health.
Being vaccinated and genuinely healthy is especially important if you already have other animals.
We are in no way endorsing the pet shops that we provide veterinary assistance to, we only want to help ensure the welfare of the animals for sale. They did not choose to be sold in a pet shop, with the profits lining the pockets of individuals who have no concern for their welfare.
